Rancho Milagro (Miracle Ranch)

53 children
Rancho Milagro is in La Mission Valley, just below Rosarito. Miracle Ranch is a strict Christian home with many children who have been abused. They need roughly $15,000 a year to supplement the funds provided by their primary support, a small group of US volunteers who raise funds. Tony and Edna, a couple who took over ten years ago, manage the home. They admit children who are referred by DIF (the Mexican social service agency). They welcome visitors and groups of all sizes. The home is in decent shape, but food and utilities are an ongoing struggle.

A conversation with Jose Alberto, a Miracle Ranch boy, age 12:
What do you want to be when you grow up? I want to be lot's of things like a professional football (soccer) player like Ronaldhino, who plays for Barcelona and is the best player in the world. I like football and would love to play it professionally. More realistically though, I want to be a Ferrari Marenello auto mechanic. Or even a Porsche Carrera mechanic. These are fast cars and they are built very well."

Miracle Ranch needs an electrician to determine the voltage load in each of the buildings and help install the proper breaker box. The breakers are constantly being kicked and need upgrading. Wired smoke alarms need upgrading.
