Los Angelitos Day at the Pool
On July 26, 2006, 7 CDV volunteers took the 40 children of the Los Angelitos orphanage to the Tijuana Water Park for a day of fun in their swimming pools. Babies, toddlers and the older kids had a GREAT time away from the orphanage for the day. A lunch of peanut butter/jam, watermelon, cookies, chips and juice and clorine made the day. The children returned home tired but grateful for the day.

Dentist visit Door of Faith
On January 28, 2006, 20 dental professionals and a medical doctor made their way to the Door of Faith Orphanage to help children in need of dental care. Corazon de Vida also invited the Rancho Milagro and Estado 29 orphanages to bring up to 30 children each and with the Door of Faith kids and other community residents, the dentists saw over 85 patients. From 9:00 AM until 4:00 PM, the doctor checked the children, the dentists pulled decayed teeth, filled many cavities, the dental hygienists scaled and cleaned countless teeth, everyone was educated on the proper way to brush and floss and each received a bag with a new toothbrush and dental floss. It was a LONG and tiring day, but everyone is asking "When can we go back?". Kudos to Dr. Clara Lee for organizing the day and to everyone who helped.

San Diego State University Trip to Casa De Paz
On March 28, 2006, the Alpha Gamma Omega Fraternity at San Diego State University invited other Greek organizations on campus to participate in their second annual work trip to the Casa de Paz orphanage in Porvenir, Guadalupe Valley, Baja California.  2 busses with over 80 student volunteers participated this year. For their work project, the orphanage director asked if they could paint two dormitories and stain a small chapel that was recently built. The students did a fundraising drive and paid for all of the paint, supplies, a fun craft and provided a fantastic meal of hamburgers, chips, cookies, fresh fruit and juice for over 200 people. They completed their paint project and still had plenty of time to have a volleyball and basketball game and most importantly, spend time with the 50 wonderful children of the Casa de Paz orphanage. The children truly appreciated the visit and for the work that everyone did to help make their home beautiful.
